Listen to the Pulp Bastard Speak!

Last night I was interviewed by Greg Conley of the Your Video Store Shelf Podcast. Greg has a great affection for Direct to Video and DVD movies, and he and I have known each other through the web for several years.

He is extremely knowledgable in this area and has gone waaay beyond the call of duty to document the history of the people who have toiled behind the scenes in the industry. I urge all of you to check out his site which will soon be back in my sidebar.

So here I am in all my...ahem...glory.

(Later, I will take questions on all the things left unsaid in our discussion)

Thanks for being on the show Bill. There was a point in time where I cared about the movies more than the personalities of the industry. I think it asking myself "What the hell is with York Entertainment?" a few years ago that really lit a spark under me.

I didn't realize it until Nathyn pointed it out, but yeah, somehow the show did go full circle with the York talk. That works for me.

Here's a little piece of York history that I wrote two years ago - http://www.yourvideostoreshelf.com/reviews/DrChopper.html

For history's sake, let me clarify that all I did was come up with the name and the concept of a guy who replaced his worn out body parts with new ones harvested from his victims. My thought was to try and recreate the feeling one got from the old Hammer Frankenstein movies: this was a guy who was dedicated to science above even his humanity.....

I went through the blog because I remember talking about DC, and found this here:

It reminded me that yes, there was a serial killer version to this story at one point or another. I'd completely forgotten that...

Great podcast! Not only were Bill's comments good (as always), but Gregory actually knows how to conduct an interview! I've delved into a lot of podcasts as of late, and I'm amazed how bad many of them are. Thanks to Bill, I now know about "Your Video Store Shelf" and will be tuning in often.

Just to let you know Bill, someone found your interview by searching Google for -- video of someone using a sex machine --

Please make a movie with someone using a sex machine so this poor guy or gal can have their search fulfilled.

I'm proud to state that your interview is #4 in Google for -- video of someone using a sex machine -- I'm sure that will result in many hits over the next several years.
