Bill, Robert Lory was actually interviewed by Justin Marriott for Paperback Fanatic issue 4. He states that he wrote the series on a work-for-hire contract for Lyle Kenyon Engel's Book Creations Ltd. Engel's dead now, of course. That's as much info as I can supply. Justin is a wealth of information well worth contacting, and if he doesn't know something, he probably knows someone who does.
