The SyFy channel drifted away from Science Fiction a long time ago. There were a few hold outs but now that Galactica is over... We should all celebrate the change.

Now there is a market for an actual Science Fiction channel (with another name). I'd love a science fiction channel that provided details on NASA launches instead of ghost hunting and communing pseudo-science.

Sci-Fi started drifting away from SF long before Galactica ended. I think it started when they started to show John Edwards (what the f*** does he have to do with sf?). Now they show ECW Wrestling (ditto) and Ghost Hunters. I don't care for pseudoscience nonsense pushed as real science. I don't mind science fiction because we KNOW it 'fiction'. But pseudoscience is bullshit pushed as real science.

My point was Galactica was pretty much the last science fiction. Once that was gone there was no point in sticking to the name. Might as well have called it the pseudo science channel.
