The Further Exploits of Grindhouse

It's posters like these that take me back to my youth. I grew up in a small town in SC, and the two theaters in town showed relatively the same fare until Friday and Saturday nites when the "Bad" theater had a midnight show that was always an exploitation classic.
It's where I saw DEATH RACE 2000 and BIG BAD MAMA (Angie Dickinson...oh my) and THE BIG BIRD CAGE and LET'S DO IT AGAIN and...
(you get the picture)

One of my best friends at primary school (back when I was around 8 years old) was the son of the lone male teacher (this was an RC school where most of the teachers were nuns, so for any teacher to have a son was a rarity. For any of them to be men was just darned outlandish).

One afternoon I went around to their house, and me and Dominic watched his dad's copy of Death Race 2000. Blood everywhere. And hairy fannies (UK vocabulary). We couldn't believe our eyes.

Needless to say, from that point on, Mr Healey was the Best. Teacher. Ever.
