Goin' PRIMEVAL on Your Ass...

Edit to add: If you want to watch the first episode -- go here.

I just finished watching ITV's new show PRIMEVAL and I have to say I love it. It is every bit of wonderful that TORCHWOOD wasn't. Take a look at the trailer:

Good, fun stories told by good directors and a great cast. SFX are great too. Think of this show as everything that SURFACE wasn't. (And fellas, you're soon going to be very familiar with the names Hannah Spearitt and Lucy Brown. Almost as familiar as you are with Moon BloodGood)

Here are the opening titles -- a fantastic call to adventure:

Why hasn't SciFi announced they've acquired this show?!!!

(Oh, that's right. They don't like Scifi...)

Lucy Brown is scrum-diddly-umptious. Ooh, those dimples and the way she talks, all posh and cute... I can feel the restraining order being written as we speak.

James, I will not have you talking about the future Mrs. Pulp Bastard in that way. Nosireee....

What's that, Constable?

DUAL restraining orders?!!!

Jaime Murray will be heartbroken to hear about this. I'd phone her up and tell her, if it wasn't a condition of my parole that I not do that sort of thing.

By the way, did you notice the Wilhelm scream they sneak in every week, sometimes more than once an episode? Fantastic.

I'm sorry - "wilhelm scream"?

I don't understand the reference...

Are there going to be any giant serial-killer crocs in THIS Primeval? 'Cause if so, I'm gonna have to pass. :)

They're using Wilhelm Screams?

I shall add that to the plus side of the ledger.

But on the whole, I was disappointed with Primeval. And last week - a boom mike in shot? Haven't seen one of those for a few years.

Still. Lucy Brown.

Oh, hello Constable...
