I think you can figure out why...

because they're in serious need of a story-teller?

Sweet Freaking Zombie Jesus, there's a giant Nazi robot getting beaten to death with it's own fist, how much more story do you want?

Seriously, thank God you Yanks closed the Giant Robot Gap or the war would have ended very differently.

That was 31 Flavors of Awesome.

They had me with the smoke pipe coming out of its back. Seriously cool! I'd pay money to see more.

OMG, that was fucking awesome! Better than some of the movies I've been paying $15 to see over the past few years.

lol. so tell me again why story is so important in a movie?

You're right, of course, DS... It's not enough story to carry a film. At all. But it would be cool framework to build a feature around. They weren't really trying to have an arc or characters you cared about... but as a short I thought it was lots of fun.

Marco is the kind of creative guy who seems he could maximize the value of any story you gave him - he can make the right story-telling choices...a tactician who needs an overall strategy.

Those are great people to work with...

good point bill. which makes me wonder - are these good story-telling choices? or are they visually arresting choices? perhaps he's making good scene-telling choices? because if there isn't a story here - how is it being told well?

what confused me about this short is - what is it? is it an example of his directing/writing skills? is it simply a cg demo? or is it an example of his imagination? like you said bill, an example of how he's able to envision and create a scene?

the most amazing thing about this short is just how much work it represents. and to put that much work into something that ultimately isn't the best cg, or story, or engaging short film - makes me wonder all the incredible effort was for.

im much more impressed by someone who can do the same thing in much less time. as pascal said, "i have made this longer as i have not had the time to make it shorter."

and as visually cool as it is, what's with that ending?? did he just run out of "story"?

The nipple machine gun was great. But why didn't the robot attack the ships when it entered the harbour?

Anyway, this was Pearl Harbour with the wrong enemy. The dollar is in the shithouse, so I guess Americans are going to start whinging about the German dominated euro to give them an excuse to escape their own economic stupidity. The Dream is over.
